Dear Author,
That’s you, by the way. Does that surprise you? That’s understandable. Most people never author a book and among those that do, most only do so once, so they don’t spend much time thinking about the nuances between author and writer. You’re the one who lived your story, or witnessed it, or has some bit of great value you want to share with the world. That’s what an author is, the one with the story.
I’m the one who helps you tell that story. I’m the writer, or ghostwriter, in this case. But I do a lot more than write. I meet with you in person, capture and organize all the details, thoughts, and information about your story. I develop it into a thorough outline. I consult with you throughout the writing process drawing out every morsel of relevant detail to paint your story in the most impactful form for the reader. Then I manage the entire self-publishing process, from cover design, to interior design, to placing your book for sale on all the relevant distribution channels. These days, that mostly consists of Amazon and similar online booksellers.

Throughout the writing process, I engage you in every important decision. I send you whole chapters and even portions of chapters to review, never stopping until you’re satisfied that the final product is both exquisitely crafted and a direct reflection of you, the author. And the best part is, you maintain all rights, royalties, and credits for your book. Having done my part, I disappear like a ghost into the background while your readers enjoy your story. For this, I charge a flat fee of $20,000, which includes everything mentioned above, the visit, outlining, writing, editing, and publishing.
I’ve completed over three dozen books for past clients and have only received the highest of praise from them and through them, their readers. If this sounds like a process you’d like to begin, you can connect with me through the options below.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Shawn Dressler – Ghostwriter
Shawn is such a fantastic writer and has excellent communication skills. I enjoyed the time we spent working together and I will definitely work with him again in the future should I release a sequel to my memoir. I highly recommend Shawn because of his skills, patience, sense of direction, awareness, attention to detail, and great communication.

SPECIALITIES
Memoir writing was my introduction into the profession of ghostwriting and has since become a specialty of mine, having completed more than twenty. However, I enjoy and have had great success in other genres, including:
True Story
Self Help
Inspirational
Business

Fiction
Shawn did an amazing job with the book and he was very easy to work with. The book was published on Oct. 31 and everyone who has read it tells me they can’t put it down. Shawn took my story and crafted it into a magnificent book. Worth every penny!!!
process and fees
process and fees
For most books, I charge a flat fee of $20,000. Only if you’re planning an exceptionally long book or one that requires expensive research, such as traveling to specific locations or consulting with other professionals for information, would we need to negotiate an adjusted price.
Once the price is agreed to and the contract is signed, the basic process is as follows:
1
In-person Meeting
The very first step is coming to see you. This is critical, the most important aspect of enabling me to write in your voice. I’ll meet with you in the location of your choice (preferably your home, as it allows me the deepest glimpse into who you are), typically over the course of one or two days. I’ll gather every bit of information about you in the form of a recorded interview and any notes you may have already written or typed up.
2
Outline
After I return back to my office, I’ll begin assimilating the notes from our in-person meeting into a detailed outline. The outline consists of a breakdown of chapters, themes, and the narrative arc and becomes the skeleton from which the story is written.
3
Writing
Once the outline is complete, I’ll begin the drafting process. We’ll communicate regularly by phone, email, and videoconference while I draft the book one chapter at a time. Along the way, you’ll review each piece before I move onto the next, commenting and offering additional detail so that by the end, not just the story but the manuscript itself will be a direct reflection of you. And when the draft is finished, we’ll both review it again, identifying necessary revisions and other improvements. Once revisions are complete, editing and proofreading will be performed.
4
Publishing
After completing the manuscript, I’ll manage the entire publishing process, including cover design, interior design, securing the ISBN and bar code, securing the copyright from the U.S. Copyright Office, helping you decide on the appropriate price for the book in both eBook and Paperback formats, writing the front and back cover content, managing the production and publishing of both the eBook and Paperback formats, consulting with you on how to manage the various distribution accounts, providing you with marketing ideas, and writing you a press release for sending to media outlets. In short, I manage the entire publishing process. The only thing I don’t do is promote and market your book.
Shawn is an extremely good communicator. He continuously delivers on his commitments and is mindful to capture the voice of the “author” in great detail. His writing skill is of unusually high quality and delivers a continuous flow of engaging work. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for brilliance. I will definitely hire him again.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answer: For most books, I charge a flat fee of $20,000. Only if you’re planning an exceptionally long book, or one that requires expensive research such as traveling to specific locations or consulting with other professionals for information, would we need to negotiate an adjusted price.
Answer: No! In fact, you should be wary of anyone trying to collect the entire payment upfront. I break my fee into installments so that you make equal payments over the timeline of writing and publishing your book. If we agree on six months, you’ll pay six equal installments.
Answer: Absolutely! Coming to you is the very first step. This is critical, the most important aspect enabling me to write in your voice. I’ll meet with you in the location of your choice (preferably your home, as it allows me the deepest glimpse into who you are), typically over the course of one or two days. I’ll gather every bit of information about you in the form of a recorded interview and any notes you may have already written or typed up. After that, we’ll communicate via phone, email, and video-conference.
Answer: No, no, and no. While I believe you will have an exquisitely crafted book, and many of my books go on to become bestsellers, it is too much of a risk for me to take. I have a passion for telling stories, not for funding them.
Answer: I would offer up this piece of advice. Unless you are famous, are writing about someone or something famous, or already have millions of followers on social media, you will likely waste your time attempting to become published at a traditional publishing house. That industry is changing rapidly and the opportunities are just not there like they were in years past. That being said, if it is a dream of yours to see your book published with that major publishing house badge on the spine, then you are welcome to. I will deduct $2,500 from my usual publishing fee, but I do not offer traditional publishing services.
Answer: Indeed! As a part of my standard fee, I’ll manage the entire publishing process, including cover design, interior design, securing the ISBN and bar code, securing the copyright from the U.S.
Answer: Not everyone can, and that’s alright. I know what it takes to write an incredibly well-crafted novel, and how much it’s worth. If you are unable to pay my standard fee, let’s discuss it. I may be able to come up with a better solution for you.
Answer: You and you alone. I am just your writer, a consultant bringing your story to life. It’s your story and you are the only one that gets any of the credit. You hold the copyright, get all the royalties, and no one knows I exist unless you either tell them about it by yourself, or give me express permission to represent myself as your ghostwriter.
Answer: Absolutely. As a part of my ghostwriter agreement, I will share nothing you share with me unless you tell me I can.
Answer: It varies. Depending on your story, it can range anywhere from three months to a year. Exceptionally long books can take even longer.
Answer: You will. Most often, I send work to review a chapter at a time, but it is not uncommon for me to send portions of chapters to make sure I’m always tracking in the right direction.
Answer: These are included. As a part of my flat rate, I will revise your book until you are completely satisfied with it.
Shawn did a wonderful job and exceeded my highest expectations. I would hire him again in a second and have recommended him to anyone that mentions a desire to write a book.
